JAKARTA: Indonesia has shown interest in strengthening defense cooperation with the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), focusing on training collaboration and professional exchanges, according to Pakistan’s military media wing.
The development came during an official visit by Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, who met Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and senior defense officials.
Officials discussed longstanding bilateral ties and reviewed opportunities to expand cooperation in defense and aviation sectors. Indonesian authorities expressed interest in benefiting from PAF’s training structure and operational experience.
During separate meetings with Indonesian defense leadership and military commanders, both sides agreed to enhance joint training initiatives and expand professional exchanges between the two air forces.
They also discussed collaboration in emerging aerospace fields and broader security cooperation.
According to officials, the Indonesian Air Chief appreciated PAF’s operational experience and conferred the Indonesian Air Force’s highest honorary award on the Pakistani Air Chief.
The visit also included formal ceremonies, including a guard of honor, reflecting the growing defense engagement between the two countries.
