TEHRAN: Iran’s armed forces said on Friday that US military bases and aircraft carriers in the region fall within the range of Iranian missiles, warning that any new attack would trigger a swift and decisive response.
Speaking to state media, an Iranian military spokesperson said operational plans and directives have already been finalized to counter any potential aggression.
The spokesperson cautioned that Iran would respond immediately if what he described as a hostile act is carried out, adding that Tehran has completed all necessary preparations.
Iranian military officials said defending national security remains their top priority and stressed that any strike on Iranian territory would be met with force.
The remarks come as tensions escalate in the Middle East following recent statements by US President Donald Trump, who confirmed that American naval assets are moving toward the region while expressing hope that military action would not be required.
Washington has not commented directly on Iran’s latest warning.
