US ‘Very Grateful’ for Pakistan’s Offer to Join Gaza Stabilisation Force: Marco Rubio

The United States has expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s readiness to consider contributing troops to a potential stabilization mission in Gaza, as discussions continue on the framework of a post-conflict security arrangement.

Speaking at a press briefing at the U.S. State Department, Marco Rubio said that Pakistan, along with several other countries, had raised questions regarding the mandate, scope, and operational details of the proposed Gaza peace plan. He noted that following these consultations, Pakistan had offered to consider being part of the initiative.

Rubio clarified that Pakistan has not yet provided formal consent to deploy troops, emphasizing that participating countries are seeking greater clarity on key issues before making any firm commitments. These include the specific mission mandate, command structure, funding mechanisms, and rules of engagement.

“We are grateful to Pakistan for its offer to be part of the Gaza peace plan, or at least for its willingness to consider participation,” Rubio said, adding that further discussions are needed before any country is formally asked to contribute forces.

He also expressed confidence that multiple countries viewed as acceptable by all parties to the conflict could eventually step forward to join a proposed Gaza stabilization force, aimed at restoring security and maintaining order in the territory.
