LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday announced a 15-member squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, appointing Salman Ali Agha as captain for the global tournament.
The squad features a blend of experienced players and emerging talent, including Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah. Youngsters Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq have also been included.
Usman Khan and Faheem Ashraf complete the lineup selected for the marquee event.
Pakistan will begin its World Cup campaign on February 7 against the Netherlands. The tournament is scheduled to run from February 7 to March 8.
As part of preparations, Pakistan will host Australia in a three-match T20 series ahead of the World Cup. Australia are due to arrive in Pakistan on January 28, with matches set to be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on January 29, January 31 and February 1.
The PCB said the Australia series will serve as the team’s final competitive build-up before heading into the World Cup.
Pakistan’s 15-member squad includes captain Salman Ali Agha, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan and Usman Tariq.
