Azerbaijan says it will not allow its land or airspace to be used against Iran

BAKU: Azerbaijan has said it will not permit its territory or airspace to be used for any military action against Iran, as regional tensions remain elevated.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed the position during a phone call with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, according to an official statement released in Baku.

Bayramov said Azerbaijan consistently opposes actions or statements that could destabilise Iran or the wider region, stressing Baku’s commitment to regional stability and dialogue.

Separately, an Iranian military spokesperson said there was no indication of an imminent U.S. strike. However, the spokesperson warned that any attack would risk expanding conflict across the region, including areas hosting U.S. military bases.

Azerbaijan reiterated that it seeks peaceful solutions and will not be drawn into any confrontation involving Iran.
