RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Asim Munir on Monday held talks with Major General Mohammed bin Saeed, Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), focusing on regional security and enhanced cooperation against terrorism, the military said.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting took place at General Headquarters, where both sides reviewed matters of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to coordinated efforts against terrorism and extremism.
The discussions covered intelligence sharing, capacity-building initiatives among member states, and measures to strengthen institutional collaboration for regional stability.
Field Marshal Munir acknowledged IMCTC’s role in promoting security across the Islamic world and highlighted Pakistan’s continued support for collective counterterrorism initiatives.
Major General Mohammed bin Saeed praised Pakistan’s contributions in the fight against terrorism and commended the professionalism of the country’s armed forces, ISPR said.
Both sides agreed to further deepen cooperation aimed at maintaining peace and security in the region.
ISPR added that the IMCTC delegation is visiting Pakistan from February 2 to 6, 2026. During the visit, a week-long training programme on countering extremism is also being conducted at the National University of Sciences and Technology.
