QUETTA: Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Tuesday said that violence and terrorism would not be tolerated under any circumstances, vowing that no militant or facilitator would escape accountability.
According to the military’s media wing, the army chief visited Quetta where he received a detailed briefing on the prevailing security situation and ongoing internal security operations.
Speaking during the visit, Field Marshal Munir praised the professionalism and sacrifices of security forces and law-enforcement agencies, reaffirming the state’s resolve to dismantle terrorist networks and their support structures.
He later visited CMH Quetta along with the Balochistan chief minister to inquire after injured personnel from the army, Frontier Corps and police.
Security officials said recent counterterror operations in Balochistan resulted in the killing of 197 militants over the past three days. Twenty-two Pakistani security personnel were killed while protecting civilians, while at least 36 civilians, including women and children, also lost their lives in militant attacks.
The army chief stressed that restoring peace in Balochistan remains a top priority and that operations will continue until stability is fully achieved.
