Asim Munir says Kashmir will witness a new dawn of freedom

MUZAFFARABAD: Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said on Thursday that Indian aggression and human rights violations have failed to break the spirit of the Kashmiri people, adding that Kashmir will eventually witness a new dawn of freedom.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief visited Muzaffarabad, where he laid floral wreaths at the Jammu and Kashmir Martyrs Memorial and paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the Kashmiri cause.

Speaking to veterans and local representatives, Field Marshal Asim Munir said Hindutva-driven policies and continued state violence had only strengthened the determination of Kashmiris.

He reiterated Pakistan’s continued political, moral and diplomatic support for Kashmir, stressing that Islamabad would keep raising the issue at international forums in line with United Nations resolutions.

ISPR said the army chief also visited forward areas and met troops deployed along the Line of Control. He praised their professionalism, morale and operational readiness, and emphasized the importance of maintaining coordination at all levels.

Field Marshal Asim Munir said Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully prepared to counter both conventional and hybrid threats, adding that any hostile action would receive a swift and effective response.
