ISLAMABAD: China has formally confirmed that the J-10CE multirole fighter jet recorded its first-ever combat success during the India-Pakistan clashes in May last year, marking a significant milestone for the aircraft’s operational history.
According to the confirmation, the J-10CE participated in real combat conditions and achieved multiple aerial shoot-downs without suffering any losses. The confirmation places the aircraft among a limited group of modern fighter jets with verified combat performance under high-intensity conditions.
The J-10CE, an export variant of China’s J-10 platform, is equipped with advanced avionics, modern radar systems, and beyond-visual-range air-to-air capabilities. Its combat validation is expected to enhance its credibility in international defence markets.
Military analysts note that real combat performance plays a decisive role in shaping global perceptions of fighter aircraft, often outweighing technical specifications alone. The confirmation is likely to strengthen China’s position in the competitive global fighter jet market.
