RABAT: Pakistan and Morocco have agreed to formalise long-term defence cooperation through a memorandum of understanding (MoU), senior officials said following high-level meetings in Morocco.
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif held talks with Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Loudyi, during an official visit, where both sides discussed strengthening institutional defence ties and expanding military cooperation.
According to officials familiar with the discussions, the proposed MoU will establish a permanent framework for defence collaboration, covering areas such as military training, exchange of professional expertise, capacity building, and joint security initiatives.
Speaking during the visit, Asif said the agreement would provide a structured platform for sustained defence engagement between the two countries and open new avenues for cooperation across multiple defence and security domains.
Defence officials noted that Pakistan and Morocco share longstanding friendly relations, supported by regular diplomatic contacts and defence cooperation. The planned framework is expected to further deepen bilateral ties and enhance coordination between the armed forces of both countries.
