US backs Pakistan after Balochistan attacks, vows action against BLA

WASHINGTON: The United States has voiced support for Pakistan following recent militant attacks in Balochistan, reaffirming its commitment to hold those responsible accountable.

In a statement posted on X, the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, an official arm of the United States Department of State, said Washington stands with Pakistan in the wake of the violence.

The bureau confirmed that the Balochistan Liberation Army remains a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization and reiterated US support for efforts aimed at bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The statement emphasized continued cooperation with Pakistani authorities as part of broader counterterrorism efforts in the region.

Pakistan has witnessed a surge in militant activity in recent months, particularly in Balochistan, where security forces have been conducting operations against outlawed armed groups.

Officials in Islamabad welcomed the expression of support, noting ongoing coordination with international partners to strengthen security and stability.
