Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Agree to Boost Cooperation in Mines and Minerals Sector

RIYADH: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in the mines and minerals sector following talks held on the sidelines of an international minerals forum in Riyadh.

According to official information, Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik met Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef during the Future Minerals Forum in the Saudi capital.

During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities for collaboration in mineral exploration, investment, and technology sharing, with a focus on unlocking untapped mineral potential and encouraging private-sector participation.

The Pakistani side highlighted the country’s vast mineral reserves and ongoing reforms aimed at creating a more investor-friendly environment, while Saudi officials expressed interest in expanding cooperation under the Kingdom’s broader economic diversification efforts.

Officials said the discussions reflect growing economic engagement between Islamabad and Riyadh, particularly in strategic sectors such as mining and natural resources. Both sides agreed to continue engagement through relevant ministries and technical teams to explore concrete areas of cooperation.

The talks were held as part of Pakistan’s broader push to attract foreign investment and strengthen economic ties with key regional partners.
