Nestlé commits additional $60m investment to expand Pakistan operations

ISLAMABAD: Nestlé has announced an additional $60 million investment in Pakistan, reinforcing its long-term expansion strategy and plans to scale manufacturing and exports from the country, officials said on Thursday.

The announcement was made during a meeting between Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Nestlé Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer for Asia, Oceania and Africa Remy Ejel, held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, according to a statement from the finance ministry.

The meeting took place during a high-level business roundtable chaired by Aurangzeb, which brought together senior executives from leading multinational companies to discuss Pakistan’s reform agenda, investment climate and long-term growth prospects.

During the discussion, Ejel said Nestlé plans to expand its operational footprint in Pakistan and aims to use the country as a regional manufacturing and export base, supplying products to 26 international markets.

The finance ministry said the investment builds on earlier engagements between Nestlé and the government in Islamabad, where the company outlined a strategy focused on localisation, advanced manufacturing, sustainability initiatives and agricultural development.

Aurangzeb welcomed the announcement, describing it as a sign of growing investor confidence in Pakistan’s economic reforms. He reiterated the government’s commitment to policy consistency, tax system reforms and continued engagement with multinational investors to support sustainable, export-led growth.
