Pakistan thrash Australia by 111 runs, seal T20 series clean sweep

LAHORE: Pakistan national cricket team completed a dominant T20 series clean sweep against Australia national cricket team with a commanding 111-run victory in the third and final match at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.

After winning the toss, Pakistan opted to bat first and posted their highest-ever T20 total against Australia, scoring 207 for six in the allotted 20 overs.

Babar Azam led the batting effort with a composed half-century, while Shadab Khan added 46 runs. Saim Ayub scored 50, Khawaja Nafay contributed 21, and Fakhar Zaman chipped in with 10.

Australia’s bowling attack struggled to contain Pakistan’s aggressive batting. Ben Warshuis picked up two wickets.

Chasing a daunting target of 208, Australia were bowled out for just 96, losing nine wickets. Marcus Stoinis scored 23 and Cameron Green added 22, but the visitors failed to build any meaningful partnerships. Adam Zampa did not bat due to injury.

Pakistan’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance, with Mohammad Nawaz claiming five wickets for 18 runs. Shaheen Shah Afridi supported with two scalps.

The victory sealed a 3–0 series win for Pakistan – their first T20 clean sweep over Australia in seven years.
