DOHA: Pakistan’s Colonel Farrukh Nadeem clinched the gold medal in the trap event at the Asian Shotgun Championship in Doha, setting a new world record and marking a historic achievement for Pakistani shooting.
Nadeem topped the individual trap competition after scoring 119 out of 125 in the qualification round and 27 out of 30 in the final. The performance earned Pakistan its first-ever gold medal at the Asian Shotgun Championship.
According to the Pakistan Shooting Federation, the championship is being conducted under a newly introduced competition format, under which Nadeem’s score qualifies as a world record.
Officials said the achievement reflects steady progress in Pakistan’s shooting discipline and highlights the country’s growing presence in international shooting competitions.
The Asian Shotgun Championship is one of the continent’s premier shooting events, bringing together top athletes from across Asia.
